On September 8, 2009, the Baltimore County Council passed legislation authorizing the use of speed cameras in school zones in Baltimore County-Bill 61-09. Passage of this important public safety legislation, authorizes Baltimore County to implement a speed camera program in up to 15 school zones across the County. Baltimore County chose Affiliated Computer Services as its primary vendor of speed cameras, which monitor traffic around school zones, and record the license plates of those vehicles exceeding the posted speed.
